Cathy was a dedicated Ottawa-Carleton District School Board teacher, Principal and Superintendent who loved music. These awards have been established in her honor to help ensure music stays alive in the classroom.
Purpose of the Award
The purpose of the Cathy Nevins Memorial Fund is to help with the purchase of instruments, sheet music, and the presentation of workshops.
Eligibility
All elementary schools within the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board are invited to apply for funds to enhance their music program.
Judging/Criteria for Selection of Winner (you will be asked to):
- Describe the music program, workshop or instrument purchase you are proposing for the upcoming school year;
- How many students will benefit directly from this investment/project?
- Identify any measurable and non-measurable outcomes associated with your project;
- Please note that: A short, written summary of how the funds were used and any other information (including pictures) are required for the awarded school year after your project has been completed.
Eligible students will be selected bi-annually by a committee including representation from the Education Foundation of Ottawa, and close family and friends of Cathy. The next award is available in 2025.
