School Councils

This could be your child, or your child’s friend.

When a student is in need, there is no time to wait.

If a house burns down, a child immediately needs new clothing. If a parent loses their job, hungry tummies need to be filled. If a child earns the opportunity to compete at the regional spelling bee, they need a bus ticket to be given the chance to reach their potential.

How to get involved:

Being involved on a school council means that you understand the importance of partnership between families and schools.  As a school council member, you can help fill in the gaps for children.

Here are a few of the ways you can help:

Students in Crisis
We need to ensure basic and critical needs are covered.
You can get emergency assistance to children and families when they need it most.

Active Living and Opportunity
Every child deserves a chance to shine.
You can provide enriching experiences including student access to extracurricular activities, bursaries and awards for those who otherwise would be unable to participate.

Food Security
Children are coming to school hungry, without enough food to last them for the school day. Others, don’t have enough food at home. You can help us by securing food for hungry bellies.

Collectively, we can ensure that as little as $2 can help transform a student’s life.
Your school council can support this annual event to your school.
